Southern Festivals News Service Billy Scott & The Prophets well known for such beach music classics as "I Got The Fever", "California", "Beach Trip", and "Roll Around Rockin", have been a main staple on the southeastern private parties, festival, concert, corporate functions, night club and wedding circuit for over 30 years. In 1997, they replaced the Four Tops, due to illness, and opened for The Temptations at Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte, NC to a nearly sold out crowd of 17, 000. This award-winning 6-piece dance and show group play a wide variety of music including beach, blues, motown, retro, funk and oldies and are always in constant demand. Billy Scott has been inducted into he Beach Music Hall of Fame, the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame and has a room full of Cammy Awards to his credit. Female vocalist, Cindy Floyd, has been nominated two years in a row for best female vocalist at the 1998 and 1999 Cammy Awards.
