Chaz, an a world of Magic

Come one, come all!

Prepare to believe
the unbelievable!

Witness marvels that have entertained the crowned heads of Europe!

Festival-goers flock around the colorful and energetic figure of the nineteenth-century "medicine man" peddling his wonders, and the fun begins.

Whether he's performing as a modern -day street entertainer or the old-time medicine man -- or as the magnificently-costumed wizard, Merlin -- magician Chaz Misenheimer loves festivals. They're my briar patch, says the Richfield, North Carolina native. The festival atmosphere itself is magic.

In addition to stage shows, Magic by Chaz provides festival clients with day-long roving entertainment. "I usually move from spot to spot - places that won't clog traffic or detract from exhibitors or other entertainers," he explains. "Then I start doing close-up magic with just a few volunteers. By the time I'm through, I've often gathered a crowd of 50 or more!"

Magic by Chaz has been featured at festivals throughout the Southeast, and many of them ask him back year after year. "One of my favorite things is when people remember seeing me before, and when parents tell me their kids asked to come back to see the 'magic man'. That's good for the festival -- and my ego, too!"

Chaz works a wide variety of festivals, including events at museums and State Historic Sites. "That's why I developed the medicine man character," he says, "but I was hesitant to offer it for other venues. Last year I started mentioning it to a few of my other festival contacts, and then a picture of me as the medicine man appeared in an event article in Southern Festivals." He says the medicine man character became so popular this year he's added Merlin to his repertoire.
